The Virtual Mentoring Program is ecstatic to send a warm welcome to the incoming freshman class of 2016! We have 28 new students who will embark on their college journey in August and we wish them all the best on their new journey. College Bound has graduated 100% of our seniors from high school and all have been accepted to a college or university of their choice! Again, congratulations to our new freshman class entering into the Virtual Mentoring Program.

During the spring semester Virtual Mentoring Coordinator, Rikkia Hicks and Executive Director, Kenneth Ward accompanied four senior students to visit two colleges that they had expressed interest in. Our first trip was to Florida A & M University where students visited the campus, had conversations with the admissions department and were able to talk with College Bound alumna, Keturah, about her experience as a freshman on campus.
The next visit to Potomac State College in West Virginia, with a graduating senior afforded her the opportunity to tour the campus and meet with the financial aid and housing offices. We also had College Bound alumna, Maya, speak with the visiting student about her experience on campus and provided a tour of the dorm she might live in during her freshman year. Students had a wonderful visit and were able to gain the much needed resources from the schools during their time on campus.

College Bound looks forward to continuing to give our supports and resources to all students in the program. Again, we wish all of our students enrolled in college and those who graduated, the best in their future endeavors.
